My husband had a good idea. He said, "Why don't we go camping just during the day? We can make a fire, and cook hot dogs and s'mores, and then come home." Our five year old has been talking about going camping nonstop since we moved to Utah, and we have been telling him, "Let's wait till it's warm at night," while also thinking, we're going to need to wait till our youngest, who is two, is a bit older. Then, my husband had the great realization that we could go do camping things, without navigating spending the night in a tent with two toddlers. So, I'm excited, I got stuff for s'mores, and we should have skewers coming in the mail that are long enough to hold safely over a fire, and all I have left is to pick up hot dogs. I had forgotten how good marshmallows smell. Every time, I open the pantry I can smell their sweet, yummy goodness and it makes me smile.
So, if you need a fun activity to do with your little ones, you could have a camping trip in your backyard and make it a short afternoon activity, or go full out, and pitch a tent in the backyard and spend the night. It's nice to get out and do stuff with our little ones, and see them experience new things. What kind of activities do you love to do with your kids?
