I'm sharing what I got for our Easter baskets. So, I am reusing the Easter baskets I got from Target last year, and I don't see them online this year, but they definitely have a lot of baskets if you need some. This year, I got each kid a t-shirt with a character that they are really into at the moment. I ordered my five year old a Mario Kart t-shirt, and a Toy Story t-shirt for my two year old. I got a boy's XS shirt for my 5 year old, and a 5T for my two year old. The XS Mario Kart tee runs true to size, the 5T Toy Story runs small, it fits like a 3T with a little more length. Knowing that the Toy Story t-shirt runs pretty small, I would have gotten him this same t-shirt in a boy's XS. I ordered these both online from Target. My plastic Easter eggs also came from Target last year. I'll be filling these with Goldfish, which is a treat for our kiddos strangely enough. I don't keep them in the house, because that is all they would want to eat. I found the Reese's Pieces carrots at the grocery store. We are giving our boys new books for Easter too. For my two year old, I got TouchThinkLearn: ABC by Xavier Deneux. And for my five year old, I got Countablock and Alphablock by Christopher Franceschelli and Peskimo.
TouchThinkLearn is a beautiful book. It has original illustrations and cutout letters that are raised or depressed on the pages that give the pages a tactile experience for little ones. These cutouts are cleverly designed to line up with the opposite page and allows the pages to lay flat. This book is a lot larger than most children's books. It is the size of a large cookbook. The pages are thick, sturdy, board book pages.
Countablock and Alphablock use playful illustrations and allow kids to guess what comes next. These pages are thicker than regular pages, but not as hardy as board book pages. They feel like what a greeting card thickness feels like. These books are small like most children's books, but thicker than the average book. We have other number and alphabet books, but I wanted fresh books with a new way of illustrating the letters and numbers to make reviewing these even more fun.
Let me know your questions and I would be happy to answer. What are your favorite things to put in Easter baskets?
